What:
The 2010 Canada 55+ Games will be the first Games to provide a Health Zone that will be the centre of excellence in the provision of educational materials, screening and demonstrations to enhance the well being of its athletes.
Location:
The main location for the 2010 Canada 55+ Games BOOST Health Zone including screenings, educational exhibits and seminars is within the Athletes’ Village @ St. Lawrence College. The gymnasium at St. Lawrence College will host the health screenings.

BOOST Health Zone Screening:
Optional health screenings (for participants only) is a highlight within the BOOST Health Zone and will be facilitated with support from Community and Primary Health Care (CPHC). The available screening will be highly valuable and will have medical professionals involved, providing a great deal of credibility. Each test that will be included will be applicable and significant to the athletes involved. Screening opportunities may include: body mass index/body fat, blood pressure, heart rate, sight, balance, blood sugar levels, hearing and dental assessments.
Learning Opportunities:
45 minute seminars will be offered on selected topics for the participants and the public, enhancing the educational experience during the BOOST Health Zone. The Canadian Diabetes Association, the Alzheimer Society, Bayshore Home Health, Osteoporosis Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, Homeward Bound Care and the Brockville Family YMCA have committed to providing this added benefit for our guests.
