Cogeco provides a dedicated channel, trained staff and sophisticated digital production resources for the creation of non-commercial local programming that reflects the needs, concerns, events and celebrations of our diverse community. We inform our viewers of our similarities and differences, the issues and common concerns, the unique activities, rich diversity and resources that contribute to the evolving character of our city.
Key to the local focus and relevance of the programming content are the partnerships nurtured with citizens, organizations and institutions, through which programs are produced by, and for this community. Training in television production is also offered at no cost to local residents, many of whom have subsequently found careers in this field. Hundreds of students have earned school credits through our Co-op program, which has flourished for close to 25 years.
Programming reflects the diversity of our community, ranging from politics to sports, from event coverage to information about local resources. People are watching and responding. Consumer surveys consistently reveal that an average of 95% of the viewers feel that the community channel provides a valuable service to the community.
TVCOGECO is pleased to partner with the Canada 55+ Games committee and will be providing feature reports in the weeks leading up to the games on our information magazine program The Source. Informational and promotional updates will also be available on our website at www.tvcogeco.com/brockville
